Daddy, you were the first man in my life. I could write a whole book about you. You loved us 3 girls, provided for us, and fought hard until your last breath. I’ll always be proud to be your daughter and to carry our Mexican American roots with me. Our hearts are broken, but I find comfort picturing you at peace with Mama, your brother, and the family who went before you. May God grant you the highest place in heaven. You’ll always be my Chicky, and I’ll always be your Chickadee.
