Only we can set our minds free

As I sit here wondering where life will take me, I am often drawn to places that feel like home and where I long to return. I pray that I will one day be in the country I love, the one that once felt like it loved me back. It has been four years and it still feels like an eternity, but I trust the reasons I am here now all make sense. As music plays, my thoughts about the future grow stronger. Hearing Arabic brings back memories of my years in the UAE, and I sometimes wonder if it was all a dream. But I have grown and I now understand what I truly want. I am grateful for Allah’s mercy and guidance. I thank God for His blessings upon my children and me, and for my father, my sister, and my friends who stand by me in difficult times. I believe that when the time is right, my other half will come into my life, better than anything I have known before. I hold onto faith and trust in His plan.
