It's all in the bag

mood: Amused
craving: tomorrow.. :)))))

Happy Friday everyone! salam alykom and hola to all my followers out there. It's 8pm on a Friday night, my kids and I are hanging out, taking it easy. Tomorrow we will spend all day with my two best childhood friends. I can't wait. So, I'll be off to bed kinda early tonight, unless my daughter and I decided to watch some movies and chill. Nothing better than spending a beautiful Friday night with my kids. Have a great weekend!!! Now, on to my entry.

A while back, my daughter came home from school and was so excited to tell me about her project. Her face was glowing and she proceeded to tell me what her project was about.

She was assigned to decorate a paper bag with pictures that represented her, places she has traveled, her favorite things and her future. In the bag, she had to put 3 things that meant something to her or represented something about her. She placed a green origami crane, a picture of my son and the flag of UAE.

When she told me why she picked these three things I cried. It just touched me the way she said it. She said.

  • In Japanese legend, if you fold 1000 cranes you are granted one wish such as eternal peace or recovery from an illness.
  • The picture of her brother represented her love for him.
  • The UAE flag opened her thinking and showed just how hospitable people can be.

I'm a really sensitive person and in the last two years, I've gotten in touch with my inner self. It's been a big blessing in disguise. All praise and thanks is to Allah (God). It's the little things in life that count. People are too busy trying to get what they WANT to make them happy. In all reality, it's the little things that touch your soul more than anything else.

final whisper: I want to thank Allah for all the blessings he has given me. Even during hard times, He's always merciful to me. I'm very humble in my life now. I no longer want stuff that I used to have. I get stuff that I need and I feel so good. Simplicity is happiness.
